Where are you based?
We work remotely from our office in Ayr, Scotland. However we not only work with amazing Ayrshire web design clients but also across Glasgow, Stirling, Edinburgh, Dunfermline, Perth, Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness as well as the rest the UK.
Do we need to meet in person?
It’s not usually necessary to meet face-to-face so most of our meetings are done via email or phone. We can use video chat like Zoom if necessary. We are happy to meet in person if required or to deliver training but technology allows us to do more in a little amount of time. We will ask you to complete a short design brief before getting started.
How long does it take to build a Website?
It depends on your requirements but we anticipate a 3-4 weeks to develop a simple start-up website but a larger, more complex web design may take a few months or longer, providing you have provided us with everything we need.
Will my Website be mobile friendly?
Absolutely, all of our website designs are responsive to work well & look good on all devices including desktop PCs, laptops or the most recent mobile phones and tablets.
Do you redesign existing websites?
Many of the websites we develop are for existing customers or businesses who are looking to refresh the design and layout of their existing website.
Do I pay a deposit?
Yes, we require 50% deposit to get the project started followed by the 50% balance due 30 days after the deposit has been paid.
Who owns the website?
Once your website has been paid in full you own the copyright forever.
Can I update the website myself?
Yes, most websites we build use a simple content management system (CMS) on a platform called WordPress which allows you to make changes yourself to pages, text, images, prices, blog articles, etc. No technical knowledge is required and we offer training plus a how to guide showing how to make any website amendments.
What is WordPress?
WordPress is a free, open source platform which we use because it’s intuitive, search engine friendly and very well supported with many plugins readily available which helps keep down development costs. We only use WordPress to build CMS websites. We have used other platforms in the past but not anymore.
Are there any other costs for my website?
You will also need to factor in domain name & web hosting costs, as well as an SSL certificate. You may also require ongoing support or website maintenance and you’ll probably need a marketing budget available to tell people about your products or services.
Can I see some examples of your work?
Can you help me choose a domain name?
We have years of experience registering domain names for clients in Ayrshire and further afield. Prices typically range from £10-15 for a UK domain or dot com web address.
Do you provide web hosting?
We provide managed web hosting and support services on our platform for your website whether it was created by us or someone else. Hosting provides web space on the internet so people are able to access your website.
Do you offer ongoing support once the new site is live?
Yes, we offer website maintenance and support packages to keep your website up-to-date every month ensuring all themes, plugins, core files & databases are working optimally.
Do you supply images for the website?
We can source stock images for your website on sites like ShutterStock or even Freepik however you may need team photos or product images which may need to be taken by a photographer although quality images may also be achieved with a high resolution camera, good lighting and composition.
Will you write the text for me?
Unfortunately not. this is a not something provided in our web design packages as we believe no-one knows your business better than you. That being said there are professional copy-writers out there who know exactly how to assist with the task of writing for the web.
Can you help me rank better in Google?
All our new websites have basic SEO built-in as standard. This however doesn’t guarantee your site will appear on page one of the search results, especially for competitive keyword phrases. We offer on-going search engine optimisation (SEO) campaign services using best practices to make your website more search engine friendly and perform better in Google rankings.
How long does it take to see results from SEO?
Unfortunately there is no straight forward answer here but as a general rule we advise being prepared to wait for 3-6 months before seeing any results from local SEO. However, it totally depends on your industry, how much competition there is locally and how big their marketing budgets are.
